Governors Ball 2016
/|... Caught in the Rain|
My first Governors Ball with BFF Fran was a weather mystery! The gods were playing tricks on us all, with Day 1 being overcast and 70 degrees, (perfect for a festival), then came Day 2, where there were not enough pink ponchos to save us all from getting drenched in what seemed like hours of heavy rain. No weatherman could have, or did, predict the two random downpours that truly rained on everyones parade, but not my bag, that I quickly stuffed into a trash bag I begged a bartender for with anything else important I had on my person.
I love having friends like Fran who take every moment life gives you lemons and make lemonade! We all danced in the VIP lounge in the pouring rain and mud, to a DJ that refused to stop his set. My sweet dreams of seeing Kayne on Day 3, turned into a cancelation nightmare, as the organization made the judgment call to refund everyones ticket due to severe lightning concerns.
We left the festival running through puddles, and dodging other frantic drenched music lovers, to catch a bus back to the 125 and Lex train station, with nothing but laughs and stories to remember this Goves Ball 16. It was not the weekend we had planned for, but it was a perfect weekend none the less. By the time the subway let me off on 14h Street, my squeaky Converse, and my almost unshakable giggle fit, carried me safely back to the East Village. First QUICKLY into my shower, then off somewhere in dream land.
Peace, Love, & Dancing in the Rain, Claire
