Day 1 Kicked off with the Lisa Perry Presentation at her storefront on Madison Ave. Two rows of benches framed the in store runway and makeshift press pit. Models strutted out in pairs of 4, well, all models but one, who looked like she’s was literally afraid to walk a normal pace, so slowly inched her way down the short catwalk. The crowd consisted of mostly middle-aged Upper East Side housewife’s, so I was expecting the clothing to follow suite with the blandness of the audience. I was pleasantly surprised when Lisa Perry’s first look was strong structured fabric, feminine detail, and a mixture of metallic boxy shapes. I’m so down with the concept of sexiness that has nothing to do with clothing being at all fitted. Her color palette was a range of black and whites, greens, and silver metallic that carried through from the short frock dresses, to the strapless black boxy show stopping last look. The dress was literally perfect, although, anything looks good on a size 0 5 foot 10’ model, I'm not so sure how much I would love the clothes for the older age group of woman that can actually afford them.
I spent my time in between these shows eating stuff, drinking stuff, eating more stuff.
