The Air
New York reminded me today why I loved living here again. The summer’s grime had just enough raw winter nights to make the streets feel clean again and the air was nippy, and honest. I love this place.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what holidays mean for people in their early twenties without children, and in the midst of fighting for their dream jobs, or creating something they are proud of. It’s a bizarre time of self-evaluation. Today, over tea and the best treats at Mansion Lauduree’ Soho, it was all about dressing for comfort. A best friend passed down this vintage PJ suit (CatID Kerrin), and I truly could not love it more. I think New York almost forces you to mix elements of clothing, maybe that one would not first think of as workable for a look. Sneakers have become such a phenomenon, but such a key part in my surviving actual walking in the city, and they really take nothing away from you’re outfit, (if anything the element of practicality is sexy).
